In Orange County, the Western Alliance for Nature has helped to fund and support the Bolsa Chica Land Trust and the Amigos de Bolsa Chica in the preservation, restoration and maintenance of the Bolsa Chica wetlands and surrounding ecosystem. One of the few remaining large coastal ecosystems in Southern California, Bolsa Chica has an unusually rich diversity of habitats with its salt and freshwater wetlands, mesas, coastal bluff scrub, and grasslands.
